There is a large meadow to play games on with a seasonal creek that runs in the spring and early summer. We are 15-20 min away from Willow Springs lake, Woods Canyon lake, and Haigler Creek. Our cabin has 2 large decks with a beautiful view in a quiet neighborhood. This property is for those who enjoy nature walks and family time. Inside the cabin, there is 2 levels with a main bedroom, living room, and bathroom on each level. The downstairs room has bunk beds built into the closet along with a queen bed. The downstairs living area has another set of bunks with a third twin as a trundle. The upstairs bedroom has a king bed with a bathroom. There are tv's in every bedroom and living room with cable tv and wifi. The kitchen has really nice new appliances with a convectional microwave and oven, and an electric stove, ready to cook any meal you want. There is also a gas grill on the bottom deck. The closest town for groceries is Payson which is about 35-40minutes away, and there is one decent restaurant about 10 min away in the Christopher creek loop called "Landmark". Some may not be familiar with the following “Housekeeping Rules” that need to be observed. If you have guests, please remind them. 1. No Trespassing on any private properties. It’s often convenient to cut through a neighbor’s property to get to the forest, but it really is a law to not trespass. Enjoy a few extra minutes of exercise by walking to the nearest forest entrance from public property. 2. When going to the Pond at the end of Canyon Drive, remember that it is on Forest Service property and all OHV rules must be followed. DO NOT RIDE off the paths to get to the edge of the pond. It is for walking only. There are many people who enjoy the pond, including fishing, and don’t need vehicles acting irresponsibly to run over them. Even though there might not be signs posted, it should be obvious that there are no riding trails and thus, it is prohibited. 3. All dogs must be kept on leashes, just like anywhere else in the state of Arizona. It would be wonderful to get through the holiday with no lost pets. However, if one gets lost, please use the Facebook page “Forest Lakes Bulletin Board” to post. If you’re not a member of that group page, it’s easy to request Approval to join it. 4. NO CAMPFIRES are allowed. We are still in Stage 2 Fire Restrictions. You can use a propane grill but no charcoal. 5. The Forest South of Highway 260 is still closed. All closed roads are barricaded, so it’s obvious which ones you should not be entering. 6. Please observe all OHV rules; i.e. no one under 16 should be driving any ATV’s, only one person per ATV if it’s a one-seater, all under 18 must wear helmets. Law Enforcement officials will be enforcing a Zero Tolerance policy. These rules also apply for the Charity Ride. If you need a review of OHV rules, you can find a copy on the website. 7. Dust levels are at an all time high. Please drive S-L-O-W-L-Y on our dirt roads. We are all in this dry season together; let’s keep it together with attitude and patience. Thank you!

Our charming place is perfect for single travelers, couples/friends or small families looking for a comfortable place in the mountains. It is an upstairs apartment that has one bedroom, one bathroom, a fully stocked kitchen with a table and chairs, a small sitting area that folds down into a bed. We have stocked the unit with many extras for your convenience. There is a pack n play and a queen air mattress, board games, a grill and a fully stocked kitchen for homemade meals. (Renters need to bring their own propane tank). There is plenty of space for parking on the side of the cottage. There is a fire pit in the yard to sit back and enjoy a fire (make sure to bring your own camping chairs!!). NO SMOKING. NO PETS. ***We use the main level cabin for our families accommodations. Property can accommodate up to two more guests. Additional guest fee as follows: $40 for 2 nights per guest, $50 for 3 nights per guest, $50 additional cleaning fee. Our place is nestled in the lovely community of Forest Lakes Estates which is located 30 minutes north of Payson. The small community has a general store that has many items from food to flashlights, a cafe/store, and a gas station. Many lakes, creeks, ponds, hiking and outdoor activities are nearby. Take a 20 minute drive north to Heber to find more grocery options, restaurants and shopping. Our place has a spacious parking area, a lower deck with a grill and chairs, upstairs is the entrance to the space and a balcony with chairs to relax and enjoy the view. A spacious foresty yard is shared if owners are staying at the main cottage and a fire pit. While we do have WiFi at our place, the connection and reception isn’t always the best. Certain areas of the property have better signals and on busy holiday weekends the internet can be down a lot. You should be able to make calls and send texts just fine but we have found it difficult to send pictures or watch videos on phones during those times. The roku tv can connect to the internet sometimes but will most likely buffer many times throughout your show or not connect at all. We cannot guarantee that the WiFi will work at all during you stay. We pay a premium price for a very subpar internet service and unfortunately at this time that is the only option here.
